Invisalign® treatment to give you a better smile involves a series of custom-made, clear plastic aligners that gently and gradually shift your teeth into correct position. Because they are removable, there is no need to give up any type of food you enjoy. You can also keep with your normal, simple dental care routine of flossing every day and brushing twice a day.

Because their aligners are made of smooth plastic, they will not damage or irritate gum or cheek tissue in the way metal braces often do. Because the plastic aligners are also clear, they are virtually invisible. People will not notice the aligners like they would notice braces, but they will notice how your smile improves with each stage of treatment.

Dentist Office Visits for Invisalign®

Each stage of treatment lasts approximately two weeks and consists of a new aligner. For best results, aligners are worn for 20 to 22 hours a day. Necessary Invisalign® dentist office visits are less frequent than with traditional braces, usually only every four to six weeks to monitor progress. The time to complete Invisalign® treatment for teens is comparable to that of braces, while adult treatment is typically completed in about a year.

Are Invisalign® Braces?

The Invisalign® aligners fit over your teeth, but do not attach to them. Therefore, they are not true braces. They are similar to a retainer, but they do not cover the roof of your mouth.

Invisalign® Cost

If you are concerned that the comfort, convenience and aesthetics of Invisalign® mean it costs more than having your teeth straightened with braces, do not worry. The cost is about the same as braces.
