How Long Does it Take to Get Dental Veneers?

dental veneers Watertwon Newton Cambridge MA dental veneers Dental Veneers Dentist Newton Watertown MA IMG 4509Getting dental veneers usually involves three visits to the dentist. The first will be for consultation. If you have not recently had x-rays, this visit will likely include them. We need to know exactly what we are working with. From preventive care to cosmetic dentistry and reconstruction, our staff always keep your unique dental needs in mind to develop a customized treatment plan. The other two visits will be to make and apply the veneers. If you are having veneers applied to multiple teeth you do not have to worry that each tooth will require multiple visits. The veneering process can be performed on one tooth, or on many teeth simultaneously.

After your veneers have been prepared and before they are applied, the dentist will check them against your natural teeth for both fit and color. Dental veneers are attached to teeth using a special cement. An ultraviolet light is used to quickly harden the cement and form a durable bond.

Dental Veneer After Care

After your veneers are applied, they require no special care. Continue your daily dental hygiene routine of brushing your teeth at least twice a day and flossing every day. Your veneers should last five to ten years before you need to have your dentist replace them. Veneers cost is greatly determined by the number of teeth being veneered. The initial consultation will help us to determine the course of action and then we can determine veneers cost. But because of their longevity, effectiveness and beauty of your reappearing smile, the veneers cost is quite inexpensive.

Veneers are custom made to fit over your natural teeth. The newer finish of porcelain veneers are more translucent and blend in with surrounding teeth. People will not notice your repaired tooth, they will just see your beautiful, natural smile.
